The Download Station
Back in the deep dark depths of time Paul released a collection of free downloads one every month for a whole year, these were demo's and remixes all unreleased. They formed the album called 'Man In A Burning Anorak' which became a bit of a classic and for the people who missed it was the holy grail. The album will be available for download again in an expanded form in March 2010 from the store.
Now fast forward to December 2009 and 'Man In A Burning Anorak - Volume 2' is here...... A new track will be uploaded to this page on the 1st of the month. These tracks will be available to download for that month only and then they will be gone!
The tracks are available in either MP3 or iTunes AAC format.
So to the tracks:
Track 1 - December 2009 - Whirlpool
'Whirlpool’ recorded at the Gossamer Dome during the great depression of 2003 - a pared-down, raw, dryzabone nautical folk love song recorded in the aborted sessions for my unrealized solo album The Wickedest man In The World. Whirlpool was produced by Henry Priestman and features original Wild Swan Ged Quinn on piano, Conrad Russell on drums and yours truly on acoustic guitar and vocals.

Track 2 - January 2010 - Decomposing
'Decomposing' is a pretty but ultimately bleak song written in 2003 and recorded 6 months later while suffering from a depression in the wake of my father's death. All the songs recorded in this 2004 acoustic session at the Gossamer Dome Studios on Anglesey (with Henry Priestman at the helm) are imbued with regret and a guttering candle-lit gloom and at the time I decided not to burden the world with an official release. Now, five years later I have gained a little perspective and think its time to let these soft-focus cathartic monsters out one at a time. 'Decomposing' features piano by original Wild Swan Ged Quinn and acoustic guitar by Nick Halliwell.

Track 3 - Febuary 2010 - I Don't Think Jesus Loves Me
February’s free download from my unreleased miscellanea collection - Man In A Burning Anorak Volume 2 - is entitled ‘I Don’t Think Jesus Loves Me’, another downer song from a mostly acoustic session recorded at The Gossamer Dome in 2004. Henry Priestman on the organ, yours truly on bass and guitars and the lovely Marli Buck on backing vocals. As you may have gleaned from it’s title the song is not exactly the most life affirming piece of music I have ever written but I think its an accurate document of where my head was at in a troubled time.

Track 4 - March 2010 - The Love Syringe
The Wickedest Man In The Word - an entire album of stripped bare funereal acoustica, what was I thinking? 'The Love Syringe' - bleak as fcuk vocals over simple guitar harmonics, harmonium and a bass drum with its skin loosened as far as it would go.The aural equivalent of a nervous policeman ringing your doorbell in the night.
