Unreleased tracks from shortlived Scouse indie idealists

These Liverpudlians didn't release their first album proper until nearly 6 years after their 1982 debut single, and claim to have gone through 28 different bass players during their desultory career. On the evidence of these 2 discs of moody, magnificent guitar pop, it seems bloody mindedness is probably all that stood between them & wider commercial recognition. Though marred by some live tracks that could have been recorded in a tool shed, Incandescent proves that, at their best (debut single The Revolutionary Spirit; Now You're Perfect), The Wild Swans held their own in the slipstream of labelmates Echo & The Bunnymen.
